The first day of Barbarian Camp wasn't really a full day. Ben arrived at the camp late in the afternoon and there really wasn't all that much to do because of the weather. Ben did help drive up the country road to the home base, however and had a lot of fun!
The real excitement started when Ben and Uncle Bill heard about a severe thunderstorm warning on TV. With smiles on their faces they both agreed that the best way to start Barbarian Camp was to pay homage to the Thunder God. So, they went out and waited for the storm.
And oh how it rained! The rain was cold. The rain would sting when the wind blew. Ben and Uncle Bill even took a Barbarian Shower in the gutter water running off the house. It was a good way to start Barbarian Camp.
After some dinner and dry clothes, Ben and Uncle Bill stayed up until 10:00 p.m. watching Harry Potter movies.
