My Columns - "Speaking of Nature"

I started writing my column for The Recorder in May of 1997. Designed to be both informative and entertaining for the layman, I try to tell stories that teach the reader something about nature without being too preachy, or high-brow. After appearing in the Saturday edition for many years, the entire "Life & Times" section recently moved to Thursdays.

Since February of 2006 my column has appeared in the Saturday edition of the Daily Hampshire Gazette. Originally in the Sports section, my column was recently moved to the "Weekend Living" section. The topics in the Gazette are frequently the same as those in The Recorder, but I occasionally run something different just to keep the readers on their toes.

Since September of 2007 my column has appeared in the Monday "Life Discovery" section of the Times Union. A much shorter column, the topics are usually different from the other papers.
